The name "Inis
Oírr/Inisheer" means "island of the east" -
it is the smallest and the most eastern of the three Aran Islands and
only 6km from the Clare coastline.This island
has a year-round population of 300 rising in the summer months and an
area of 2 miles x 2 miles.

Once you land at the pier on the island, you have several options for getting around - you can rent a bicycle, hire a pony and trap to get a guided tour, or simply wander around, enjoying the tiny, car-free roads.
